The color direction reflects my original idea for a bright, tropical palette. Using Illustrator and AI assistance, I built a landscape that keeps the hand-drawn charm but adds depth and clarity. As you scroll, you’ll see how I shifted the palette to create a more atmospheric, vintage look while keeping the overall composition intact.

The sketch that started this project is shown below, along with the initial Illustrator work I created for the poster on the right. The airline logo was added late in the process, but the overall style carries through from the early concept. My goal was to blend period-appropriate design with a clean, modern finish.

My original idea, but improved with AI.

As a designer, I’m always exploring new ways to expand an idea. For this series, I used AI as a development tool to rework and enhance my early sketches. By combining traditional illustration, vector building, and controlled AI outputs, I was able to evolve the piece into a richer, more cohesive final result.

This approach highlights how AI can support craft by speeding up iteration while keeping the creative choices intentional and human-driven.

It’s important to note that I use AI to support professional-grade work, not replace it. The final images rely on real design decisions, refinement, and a consistent visual point of view.
